OK, so I'm sitting on my couch, dripping in sweat. I have paper towels shoved up my nose because my nose runs like a sieve. I honestly don't even have the energy to change out of these shorts and t-shirt, which are as wet as if I'd just crawled out of a swimming pool. I'm sitting here as always, a victim of one bad decision.
LT, you mentioned Magic Johnson before. Yes, medication has come a long way over the years, but the scary and sad truth is that despite the medication you have to accept the fact that this illness is with you forever. My immune system is so wrecked that if someone with a cold drives down Sheffield, I'm going to get sick.
On a good week these days, I'm at work two and a half or three days. The rest of the time I'm either sitting in the lobby of a doctor's office or locked up in my apartment, too sick and tired to read a book, and too wacked out of my mind from these meds to sleep.
I want to make one thing perfectly clear: I am not sitting here and bitching about my condition like I'm some kind of victim. I'm fully aware that it was my lifestyle that caused this. I did this to myself.
And, LT, you sound just the way I was. If even half of what you brag about is true, then you're living wrecklessly and selfishly.
Jesus, would you look at us. Outside of SS, does anyone ever have anything nice to say? And I don't mean nice the way Dwarfstar has been lately. I mean nice like when we all first started talking over on the Murf board. Do you guys remember that? Before we got banned from over there for pissing everyone off?
I know we were doing the same thing there, but it was against a bunch of slacker idiots.
Wow, I'm just now thinking of that. We all kind of joined up in the first place out of a war. We were in a war of words against a group of blowhard idiots.
So we moved over here (or to the last board at least) and it was fun at first, but it was like without that war, we moved to this bitching at each other.
SoCo, you used to post your views that were maybe a little jaded, but they weren't directed at anyone in particular. You made some very good points, and we could actually have a dialogue about our disagreements. We all really opened up, and was there any of us who didn't enjoy talking to the others about our views?
And Flash, I swear to God, I think you used to spell better!
(Battery running low. I'm gonna go ahead and post what I have so far, then go plug in. BRB.)
